The Student Loans Company (SLC) is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of financial services to the higher education sector (and to further education students studying on full degree courses) across the UK. As a public body jointly owned by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and Scottish Ministers, we are responsible jointly to the education departments of Westminster and the three devolved administrations which individually decide their own student finance policy. Following a comprehensive review of higher education finance, the Student Loans Company was given a larger and much more central role in the provision of student finance.
From early last year we have been recruiting for a number of key positions within Darlington. Throughout this time, we have recruited more than 460 key people to our team within a variety of full and part-time positions, including Customer Service, Administration, Team leader and Student Finance Assessor. And we’ve not finished growing our team yet.
Our Growth
Our expansion has been coupled with a move to our brand new state of the art premises in the Memphis Building, Lingfield Point, Darlington where we use the most up to date technology, created to encompass not just our current work but our future needs as well, to be ready for changes in demands.
